"We declare that God's commandment for His children to multiply and replenish the earth remains in force."
A friend of mine in college once asked me how many kids I wanted to have some day.
My answer of "more than one, but hopefully five" completely shocked him.
And from his tone of voice, I could tell that he also thought that my response was not only surprising, but ignorant and maybe even selfish.
According to my friend, the world simply could not accommodate every person having multiple children and that a responsible citizen of the world wouldn't think of having more than one child (if any at all).
Satan loves to take a good idea and taint it.
That is why we must teach our children the truth.
Of course, we should take care of the earth.
The Lord expects us to use its gifts wisely and to have reverence for all of his creations.
But in addition to "reduce, reuse, and recycle", we have been commanded to replenish.
Replenish means "to make complete again, by supplying what is lacking".
The children that we bring into this world--and raise to contribute to society--will be what replenishes and renews this earth.
The truth is that:
Children are our greatest natural resource.
It was fun to talk about "multiplying" while making these paper doll chains together.
They are so easy and cost nothing.
Hope you like our robot chain!
I loved your comment about children being the greatest natural resource. This is something we are "accused" of over and over again, our huge family consumes to many of the worlds resources.
