Life is Sacred

"We declare the means by which mortal life is created to be divinely appointed. We affirm the sanctity of life and of its importance in God's eternal plan."

We actually talked about this concept with the kids last night while baking and devouring chocolate chip cookies. They were delicious!

But today is a fun, new day, and we needed a fun, new activity.

So, we are happy to bring you "stained glass hearts".

First lay down a sheet of wax paper
and get out some of your favorite colored crayons.

Then start peeling.

Don't stop until you have a nice little pile of shavings.

Then cover with a second piece of wax paper.

Turn your iron on a low setting, and turn off the steam function.

Gently press.

Note: Be sure to place your wax paper on top of newspaper or a rag to protect your ironing surface, because if the wax gets out of the paper it can stain whatever is below it while ironing.

When the peelings melt and spread, you're good to go.

Trace a heart onto your wax paper creation.

Cut out.

Now you can either give your heart a big hug...

...or hang a bunch of them in the nearest window to enjoy!

  2. Okay, so I've started to do multiple activities with the kids each day. The main one has to use up LOTS of energy. But then for quiet time we are doing art activities. I love this one and had forgotten about it. Think this goes on the agenda for next week. Thanks for the ideas!

  3. What was your lesson for this one? Like what was the conversation with your kids to teach them about this sentence of the proclamation ? We have done all your lessons up till this one and I am doing this one next fhe so was hoping for ideas. I've got three boys 7,4 and 5 mo. Love the craft idea and all your lessons on this... We have been loving them. Thanks so much

    1. That was 5 years ago now so my kids were very young. I think we just talked about it and explained what we felt would be helpful to their little hearts to know about this at that time...you can check my 5 minute lessonshopping on the FP that we did last year to see if there's something helpful to you on this is topic. Good luck!
