I always think its interesting to see how different people depict Jesus Christ in art. I appreciate their talent in bringing to life their rendition of the Savior, when it is done with sincerity. Some depictions jive with how I envision the Lord and others don't. Personally, I appreciate my kids' depictions of Jesus, and how freely they express their love for and interest in him.
During scripture study this morning, Guy grabbed a pair of scissors and cut out the figure pictured above. Then he announced quite matter-of-factly, "This is Jesus."
What he reminded me of this morning is something that has been weighing on my heart a lot lately...He reminded me that the Savior comes to and speaks to each of us in a way that is personal and unique. Therefore, our view of the Savior, and how we understand him, tends to be uniquely personal to each one of us, as well.
And that's ok. That's how he means it to be. I am thankful today for a very personal Savior.
I love the insights you glean (and share with us) from simple, everyday things. Thanks, Jocelyn.

his vision of Christ is what his heart really feels and sees. Its quite lovely.
ReplyDeleteI like the smile on the Savior's face...
ReplyDeleteHe has learned that Christ is in our image. He looks like a man. I wonder if that has anything to do with The Family A Proclamation. He is your son to testify of Christ in all things, right?
ReplyDeleteI hope you find the peace you are looking for.
So true! Love when my kids make Jesus shiny.=)
ReplyDeleteThis was a great thought. I know that we do have a personal savior. Sweet picture.
ReplyDeleteYour kids are the best. They have such sweet instincts. ;) I absolutely love Guy's version of Jesus.
