Little eyes are upon you
and they're watching night and day.
There are little ears that quickly
take in every word you say.
There are little hands all eager
to do the things you do.
And a little girl who's dreaming
of the day she'll be like you."
You are clearly a better example and a better mother than I... my first reaction would be, "No! We don't color in books!" :) Does she have her own set of scriptures to mark up?
ReplyDeleteYes, they do...this is recent though that they've wanted to mark them. I am assuming it is because I've been using The Red Headed Hostess' study guides that help you learn to mark scriptures effectively....so they've started to want to mark theirs too. I don't mind...BoMs are like $3.50 and they are really sincere about it. The whole time Autumn said she was "teaching me scriptures lessons". Cutie! She was babbling on and giving me instructions and marking away to her heart's content!
ReplyDeleteperfect!
ReplyDeleteSooooooo precious!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! The best lessons are always taught by example. We love your new blog design by the way.

The first time I caught me four year old writing in his Book of Mormon my first instinct was to say "don't write in the scriptures!" thinking of it like any other book. And then my brain kicked in and I realized he was writing in his scriptures because I write in mine. He is learning his letters, so a few months ago I showed him what "Christ" and "God" looked like the the Book of Mormon and let him go through the pages and find those words. It was fun to see him get excited to see the name or Christ and our Heavenly Father on the pages of the scriptures.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting these pictures! What a great reminder that our children are watching us.

This has really hit me lately -- when my 3-year-old says, "Mom, you know I'm getting bigger? You know I be bigger like you soon? Yeah. That's pretty cool." In my head, I'm thinking, "WAIT!!!!!! WHAT? Who taught you that? You ARE getting bigger, aren't you? What have I taught you today? What are you seeing? Please stop the clock, I'm not ready yet!!!!" And she's three. :-) LOVE this post!
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah...I hear that!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't think you'll ever know how much I needed this today. THANK YOU!
