All right now, friends.
It's almost February. Around here that means that it's time for another Service Boot Camp.
Many of you have joined me for Service Boot Camps in the past. Together, we:
Raised $700 for Haiti...
Made 200 Journals for Grieving Military Widows...
and Served Others Every Day for 30 Days.
For this Service Boot Camp, we are going to embark on a mission to write letters to people who have helped us, inspired us, served us, or made a difference in our lives or the lives of those around us...THANKING THEM for their efforts.
It's a simple thing, really, writing a letter.
But it can be a huge thing for the recipient of your sincere expressions of love and gratitude.
Hopefully, you'll join me every day in February, as we try to make the world a little better with every letter that we write.
To get us prepped for this Service Boot Camp, I have some excellent giveaways lined up.
The first one is from The Canton Box Company, who has generously donated the card that you see above. They have some really amazing things in their shop, so I do hope you'll check them out! Really...amazing!

Thanks Jocelyn...you know what i mean.
I am totally on board for the service giveaway! I love writing letters to people, so this one is perfect for me.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm also a follower, of course.
Who wouldn't be?
;)
I'm a follower!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited to do this! Once every few years I write cards out to all my family members letting them know how much I love and appreciate them! This time I already have a couple of people in mind that I have been meaning to write to and just haven't made it a priority! I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI pledge to do it!
ReplyDeleteI guess I am a closet follower cause I always check your blog off of the fb post! You do some great stuff Jocelyn and I love seeing how involved your kids are!! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great project: service boot camp.
ReplyDeleteThe cards are delightful. They have a nice selection of products.
Jocelyn, you are my hero. I actually had a "Jocelyn" moment last week, one where I ended up thinking "I will do X with my kid when he's old enough to understand, not because it's easy or will be fun but because that will be a good conversation to have early on with my child!" That probably doesn't make any sense at all, but it was a great moment for me and I attribute it all to your awesome gems you share here about how you teach your children. So thanks. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I am SO in for this Service Boot Camp.
ReplyDeleteThey have such a lovely shop! Thanks for finding it and sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the post on FB. First time :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm a follower. Whoda thunk?
ReplyDeleteI am super excited about this! It'll be my first service boot camp. And now I'm thinking of Sound of Music:) Anyway, I have a little corner of my white board devoting to writing names down of people I need to write a thank you/letter to and I only every actually sit down once every three months to do it. Shameful. Now I can knock that list out and more starting tomorrow. Woot!
ReplyDeleteI solemnly pledge to participate every day in 2011's Service Boot Camp:)
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower, too.
ReplyDeleteVisited the Canton Box site. I love old wood. I've got to learn how to make stuff like that.
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower!
ReplyDeleteQUESTION - For the boot camp will you be writting a letter EVERY DAY? Is that how it will work? Great idea! Just want to make sure I can do it if I pledge to do it! :D Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteI can pledge one letter, I love writing handwritten notes and mailing them to people, they are always so appreciative when they receive one. I'm shy in person, but I don't mind writing so it's a great way for me to express myself to those around me. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog!
