Steve told me yesterday when he started putting up the Christmas lights that it would be "blog-worthy". I don't know. He must be reading too much Middle-Aged Mormon Man or something, but I guess he was right, because here I am...blogging about it.
Leave it to a man to take his own life into his hands to put up Christmas lights!
Let's get a closer look shall we? Yes, that's a rope that he's dangling from and nothing else. He even trusted me tie the knot!
Not right....but at the same time, just so Steve!
I LOVE THIS POST!!!! My hubby is crazy but a different kind.
ReplyDeleteI hope Guy doesn't get any wild ideas! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is kind of amazing. :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, this is kinda scary!
ReplyDeleteIn a good (but still frightening) way.
;)
Ha ha! Awesome!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteUrk! I read this post from behind my hands and between my fingers. Can't wait to drive by some evening to check out his handiwork!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was growing up my dad would put up the Christmas lights the same way-only he was trusting his rock climbing shoes-no rope!
ReplyDeleteMy husband was thrilled when his sons got old enough to take over the light-hanging duties. I wonder what we're going to do this year now that the last one left for college this fall and isn't coming home for Christmas.
ReplyDelete(Actually, I know what we're doing. We're not hanging lights from the second story roof! And we're going to go visit him for the holiday.)
I'm sure you'll enjoy your festively-decorated house!
It's a good thing he isn't afraid of heights!
ReplyDeleteDoes he need to borrow our crane? We have two - one goes 45 feet in the air the other about 100 feet. We also have loaders that go about 25 feet in the air.
That is my hubby on a daily basis, he owns a Christmas light company and in our prayers at night he says "thanks for letting me not fall our that roof" That is how I find out that he almost fell off! Scary
ReplyDeleteI'll agree-he's crazy!
ReplyDeleteThis really scares me. I know one sister in a stake I once lived in, whose husband fell off the roof and has never been the same. She felt like she lost her best friend. And there is a sister in my ward whose husband fell off the roof and died. Both men were in their early 50's. There are a lot more important things in this life than Christmas lights.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Mr. Griswald ist work. make sure you do a drum roll when lighting it up....LOL!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is hysterical!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad he made it down OK. :)
ok I am soooo laughing out loud right now! honestly? that is sooo "Sparky" on Christmas Vacation. Guess you don't have one of those little giant ladders LOL. So let's see the after pictures of all the lights on! This was soooo funny! and is very blog worthy! lol. How is it that you grass is soo green still?
ReplyDeleteAll my husband said about the picture was "why is he using a hammer? he should be using clips" (as in multipurpose clips or christmas light clips or something). Hope it all turns out alright!
ReplyDeletegood blog entry stuff but so not wise. look who's taking it all in without a camera.
ReplyDelete"Reading too much middle-aged mormon man"???
ReplyDeleteIs that possible?
I can't stop laughing at how Steve has the rope wrapped around his leg a few times - probably more for your benefit than his.
Tell him that MMM concurs: This was truly blog-worthy.
So funny! Why do men always want to "rig" things? I'm always teasing my husband about wanting to "rig" everything in sight. Must be a boy thing. ;)
ReplyDeleteLove that photo! My hubby would go up with the rope. And drive me crazy.
ReplyDeleteThat's not the first time I trusted you to "tie the knot!"
