Last Christmas, my "secret santa" Liz bought me some of the best-smelling, smoothest, most beautiful soap I'd ever seen. I thought for sure, she'd bought it in some fancy boutique in NYC or brought it back from her hometown of Forks, Washington! But, oh no, she bought it just down the street from my house!
Since then, I've become a frequent customer at the Pompeii Street Soap Company. Their soaps are how I "treat myself" after doing a dirty job at home. The soaps are all hand-made and detergent-free. They moisturize very well, and they last forever!
Today, I stopped in and visited with the owner/mastermind of all of their wonderful soaps and she was happy to offer up a gift set as a Mother's Day Giveaway for you, my wonderfully dedicated readers--Mommies, Grandmas, Aunties, Friends, and women who just rock your corner of the world each and every day. Happy Mother's Day to each of you!
To win the 3-piece gift set shown at the top of this post
in the aroma of your choice...
DO ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
1. Share this giveaway post on Facebook or your blog.
2. LIKE the Pompeii Street FB Page or VISIT the Pompeii Street Soap Company site.
3. COMMENT telling me WHAT YOU LOVE about YOUR mother, grandmother, or another female role model or the most important thing you learned from them.
Please leave a separate comment for each entry.
While you all get to work on those entries, I'll just be giving myself a relaxing sugar scrub!
I will announce the winner on Mother's Day.
One of the things I love most about my mom is that I've never heard her talk badly about anyone. Ever. You can tell when she doesn't like someone (like an evil dictator) because she stumbles over her words. She's an amazing example to me of loving one's neighbor.
ReplyDeleteThe mint cocoa and vanilla bean lotion sound heavenly!! What a neat site:)

I posted about this giveaway on my FB:)

The think I love about my mother is how much she cares about her children! She is also a foster mother of children with special needs and I am just amazed by her:)

I just read about the lavender sugar scrub on the site. I already feel relaxed just thinking about it! And it's an excuse to stay in the shower longer!:)
ReplyDeleteMy mom is so amazing. She gives of herself and asks for nothing in return. When my husband was laid off a few years ago she let us come live in her three bedroom home for two years until my husband was able to find employment. We had 6 kids still at home at the time! Now she is tirelessly taking care of my father who is struggling with a disease that has left him a quadriplegic. She defiantly could use something special this Mother's Day and these wonderful products would be just the thing!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE sugar scrubs and the lavender one sounds so relaxing, but the Lemongrass sounds invigorating.

I love that my mom always tried her best to make my life a good one. She had me at a young age (barely 16), but she always tried to improve our situation in life.

I think I love that my mother had me;) heehee.
ReplyDeleteBut I really do adore my MIL. On our honeymoon we were late for our flight at the DC airport. My MIL, BIL and aAron and I were traveling back to Ga from our reception in LEWISBURG and they wouldn't let us on (even though they hadn't closed the flight doors yet.) My MIL threw a fit announcing that her kids were on their honeymoon and that the woman needed to let Aaron and I on and stop being such a "B". It was love at first swear word.
I learned so much from my grandmother last year before she passed away from cancer. I learned to love being a young mom and to appreciate the time I have with my little ones. We always apologized for our little ones leaving handprints all over her sliding door, but she said that she didn't mind because it reminded her during the week about the little people she loved. Such a grand lady - love her!
ReplyDeleteMy mom is a great example of kindness and faith. For the longest time I thought she really liked EVERYONE because I never heard her say an unkind word. I wish I were better at that!
ReplyDeleteMy mother is an incredible example of self sacrifice. She has always given her all to each of her eight children. I can always count on her for love and correction (even when I don't think I need it!:) )
ReplyDeleteLove the sugar scrub!
ReplyDeleteI visited the site...one of my favorite things is soap, you know! And I like lotion too.
ReplyDelete=)
My mom thinks I am wonderful. That's a good thing in a mother.
ReplyDelete=)
Posted your giveaway on my blog. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteEvery aroma sounds amazing! I will have a hard time choosing... you know WHEN I win... (positive thinking has worked for me before!)
ReplyDeleteAnd their prices and shipping are super reasonable. I might just have to get my MIL a second gift for Mother's Day because she adores things like this.
I have two awesome moms in my own mother and my husband's mother.
ReplyDeleteMy mom is CALM. She just rolls with whatever, whenever. I guess having 8 kids will do that to you. :)
And my MIL is probably the toughest woman I know -- physically and spiritually. She deals with so much every day and she is just amazing. Amazingly patient. Amazingly faithful. Amazingly funny. :)
I just liked them on FB
ReplyDeleteOne of the things I'm remembering more and more about my mom -- and wish I could better follow -- is her love of people. She was genuinely interested in everybody and made people feel so comfortable around her. We used to joke that she'd walk into Wal-Mart alone and leave with 3 new best friends. Thanks for letting me share, Jocelyn -- feelings are tender :)
ReplyDeleteI love my mother for doing things with me that I loved and for supporting my activities. You don't realize what a sacrifice that can be when you're a child. You just don't think your parents might want to be doing something else than playing Barbies with you, but play Barbies she did. And for that love and example I am forever grateful.
ReplyDeleteYummy, I visited Pompeii Street Soap Company and some of their soaps look good enough to eat! What a treat they must be in the bath!
ReplyDeleteMy grandma is a great role model of making a warm inviting home. Her house is a true haven and she is an excellent hostess. It's better than any other getaway I know.
ReplyDeleteShared this giveaway on my FB page!
ReplyDeleteOh-- I am all about the scrubadubdub
ReplyDeleteI went to the site and their soaps are so pretty and they have a good variety of scents. I've never heard of them before. I'd like some of the sugar scrubs too.
ReplyDeleteOne of the many things I love about my mother is how she can so easily see the best in people and be friends with people who are like her or completely opposite.
ReplyDeleteI love my mom, she has never pressured me to do anything other than my best. She is an example of adventure and has shown me that I am able to do anything I want and if I change my mind, I can do that too.
ReplyDeleteI have shared the loveliness of this soap, well the knowlege of it, with all my facebook friends.
ReplyDeleteDidn't realize they had a facebook page, fixed that oversite. My favorite soap in the world, well Pennsylvania anyway.
ReplyDeleteI love so many women in my life I feel that I am who I am because I have a little piece of each of them my mom both my grandmothers sisters and others have influenced me spiritually and I am grateful for such strong amazing women
ReplyDeleteI am putting this on Facebook
ReplyDeletevery nice -- My mom is an incredible woman -- aged 80 and I just found her on the roof, working. Got to have those genes!
ReplyDeleteI looked at the site and I want everything I wouldn't mind getting durty if I could cleaned up with soap that is called sugar scrub
ReplyDeleteWhere do you find all these wonderful things? And how do you get the courage to ask for support and help?
ReplyDeleteBoth my Grandmothers were very important to me. They have both died. There are still days that I have the thought I should call them to ask how to do something or to share how my sons did something or to hear a comforting word. One of my Grandpas has left my Grandma's voice on the answering machine. It catches my breath, and I struggle at times to leave a message because I miss their influence in my life and especially their unconditional love.
I'm not sure which I like the best but will probably send these to the mothers in our lives at some point today for a Mother's Day gift. Why not? It is always fun to get something in the mail....right?
ReplyDeleteI am commenting about my best friend - an awesome female in my life. Just when I am feeling down and discouraged, she bolsters me up with positive comments and makes me feel better about myself. I know I can count on her.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I love about best friends, they are always there for you when you need them the most!
Posted about the giveaway on FB.
ReplyDelete"liked" the FB page of Pomepeii Street Soap Co. - seriously, though. I REALLY liked it! This soap looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteMy mother-in-law has been a real inspiration for me. She has had a rough start in life (bad family life growing up, horrible first marriage) but is still a faithful Christian woman who loves her family and take such good care of those around her. She also takes time to take care of herself, which is something that I had to learn from her, because my mother was not always that way. She is fun, spunky, fit, healthy, and smart, and I really enjoy being around her.
ReplyDeleteI love that my mother gives me unconditional love.
ReplyDeleteAnd I visited the site.
ReplyDeleteReally?! Body butters?!
I posted.
ReplyDeleteSkin care is always a good thing. YAY!!!!
ReplyDeleteooo, they all look so good! But I think I would love to get that lavender soap for my Mom. She loves the smell of lavender and since I know that, I always think of her whenever I pass a lavender bush.
ReplyDeleteawwww.... *sigh* I miss my Mom just thinking of her, haha!

One of the things I love most about my mom is that she taught me to love and appreciate music. That has been a wonderful gift to me in my life.
ReplyDeleteI also visited their site and totally love the lavender Sugar Scrub. That sounds just heavenly!!
ReplyDeleteI love that my mother taught me the beauty of homemaking, cooking, cleaning, decorating for holidays, etc. She showed me that it's an artwork.
ReplyDeleteI love my Mom because she ALWAYS finds the positive in things, helps me to see the brighter side, and she makes me laugh so hard I cry... she's one of my VERY best friends. She is a fighter and a finisher and fun.

ReplyDeleteI shared your post on my facebook wall. Thank you for this wonderful giveaway and the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI am following Pompeii Street Soap Company's facebook page.
ReplyDeleteMy grandmother taught me about grace and elegance, and how to be a true southern lady. Her impact on my life has been profound.
ReplyDeleteI love the spunk my great grandmother had as a young girl! She wasn't afraid of anything and she was quite the trickster!
ReplyDeleteI liked their facebook page!
ReplyDeleteJust shared this on FB!
ReplyDeleteFinger's crossed! I LOVE things like this!
ReplyDeleteWhat I love about my fore mothers is their incredible strength, determination, steadfastness and faith. Through severe trials they remained true, and I am so grateful for that heritage, it is such a blessing in my life.
ReplyDeleteI "liked" on facebook and shared it on my profile. Hopefully my mom isn't looking too closely tho, I just had to send her something for her dry harnds after survivng that harsh Alaska winter!
ReplyDeleteI visited their website, and would have such a hard time deciding on a favorite fragrance. Maybe orange, but tempted by lemongrass or vanilla!
ReplyDeleteFinally, I have so many great mom role models- my mom, MIL, and 3 grandmothers still living. One thing they have all taught me, some inadvertently, is the omportance of forgiveness. The power it has to make life happier, to forgive and forget and let go of those grudges! We will all be down here together for 70 or more years, then together forever in the eternities. Better to be happy and getting along than reliving past hurts!
