My grandmother Gladys Osborne gave this talk in Sacrament meeting on Easter 1986 about my grandparent's recent trip to visit the Holy Land. Her daughter-in-law found these notes from her talk and my mom typed the talk up and shared it on her blog.
I love my grandma's account of their visit to the room where Christ had the last supper and instituted the Sacrament. I love when she says that every Sunday, for us, is Easter, because it is each week during the Sacrament that we remember Christ's resurrection.
She also says, "HE NEVER ASKED US TO CELEBRATE HIS BIRTH NOR DID HE ASK US THAT WE REMEMBER HIS DEEDS. ONLY THIS DID HE ASK, THAT WE REMEMBER HIS WORK OF REDEMPTION. THIS WAS TO BE HIS MEMORIAL, A CROSS TO REMIND US THAT HEAVENLY FATHER & HIS SON LOVED US - UNLOVELY MEN & WOMEN - WEAK, SELFISH, PETULANT, ARGUMENTATIVE HUMANS - & THAT HE LOVED US TO THE END.
