But this month, I have felt protected. I have felt lead and directed. I have even, at times, felt the power of the spirit allowing me to testify in a way that was unexpected. I have, for the first time in a long time, felt light, felt free, felt empowered. I do hope the feeling will last. I have plans to place seven more copies of the Book of Mormon before the month ends. But I am a little foggy on who they should go to. I can see that I am going to need to dig deep to discover what is meant to happen with these last seven copies.
I deeply appreciate all of you who have stuck around and all of the Forumites who have continued to blog their little (big actually) hearts out about The Book of Mormon each day. Much of my part in the Forum has happened "off-line" in the streets, front porches, and grocery stores of my hometown, but I have felt you there cheering me on in spirit, so thank you. Thank you for commenting. Thank you for emailing me with your stories of faith and even starting blogs of your own.
I received a really neat email from a 19-year-old woman this week who is investigating the church. She has the LDS Gospel Library App on her iPhone to help her study the scriptures, so that she can come to know for herself whether or not the gospel is true. She has started in Genesis and is working her way through.
How did she become curious about the gospel? Not because of a certain musical, not because there are Mormons running for office this year, but because she read the blogs of Mormon mommy "fashion bloggers" and clicked on the "I am a Mormon" button. She watched, video after video and didn't want to stop. She loved that although the voices and experiences of the people bearing testimony varied greatly, they had one thing in common, they were united in their values, their beliefs, and their interpretation of the scriptures.
This unity of understanding of holy scripture is surely a result of having The Book of Mormon in our lives. This sacred book testifies of our Savior, Jesus Christ with great power and clarity.
My new friend ended her email by saying this:
"...from the bottom of my heart, Thank you. Thank you for this blog and for the Book of Mormon Forum. Thank you for providing such a wealth of opinions and experiences which I read through with eager eyes from all the different bloggers who link up. Thank you for convincing me that this interest I gained after clicking an "I'm a Mormon" button is not just an interest, but something that could alter, for the better, the rest of my life."
