This is the week...the very exciting week, where LDS moms everywhere are scrambling to get ready for General Conference--printing coloring pages, gathering snacks, and planning menus.
We've done a lot of fun things over the years with our kids during General Conference weekend. You can see some of them HERE.
But the tradition that is quickly becoming my favorite is our General Conference Question Wall. We write down questions that we have and post them on the wall next to the television. As we watch General Conference, we listen for answers to our questions and jot them down next to our questions.
Here is the rough draft of the questions that we came up with at breakfast this morning.
And then, after I left the table, Guy wrote down what he really wanted to know:
"Should kids buy their own toys??" - Guy
I had to laugh when I saw his query...When Guy asks for extra toys at random times throughout the year, we say what most parents say, "Sure, if you've got the money to buy it." I guess Guy would like a second opinion on that...and who better to ask, than the prophet?
Can't wait to see what gems of wisdom he will have for us this weekend!
In the meantime, as you can see from the top photo, I am going through the last few years of my conference notes and recording important quotes in my new General Conference journal...starting with President Monson. (I'll share more about that later, hopefully.)
It's neat to look back and remember the counsel given and ponder how it has affected my life...and if I've heeded his counsel.
