Happy Birthday, Scarlett True

I've been busy doing non blogging things and forgot to mention that I have another child who is in baptism prep mode!  Scarlett turned 7 and we celebrated together...family birthday parties are the best!  Now to prepare a personalized baptism prep plan for my girl.  It's interesting how all of God's children are different and we each need different experiences to prepare us to make and keep sacred covenants, but the Spirit is available to all.  And I'm excited  to see what adventures await in the coming year!

  1. My oldest is turning 7 next week too! I'm curious what goes into your baptismal prep plan. I love all your FHE lessons and plans, although it makes me feel a little inadequate since my FHE lessons are generally fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants types --as is pretty much everything in my life. You always seem to be so on top of things and prepared. I try not to compare, but seriously, what is your secret?

    1. Ummmmmm...I am fly-by-the-seat of my pants too!!! But sometimes I just get ultra focused and when it comes to my family, I just pull out all the stops. Sometimes, I get a little out of balance and I crash, so don't compare yourself to me. I wish I could slow down and relax a bit, but I seem to enjoy this stuff. I just always look for a need that needs filled....unless I'm looking in the laundry room. I never look in there!!! ha ha!!!

    2. Laura - One thing that I have done in the past is start a file folder of quick FHE Ideas....I went through old Friend magazines and ripped out things that were easy to do for FHE and put a post-it note for the date we might do it. I went through and got 6 months worth of FHE's planned. We didn't always follow it, but it sure helped me to get on track and not end up with nothing to do each week!

  2. Thanks for the insight, and the idea. I love The Friend, and often that's where I turn when I have less than 15 minutes to prepare for FHE. Thanks for your inspiration.
    Clean laundry is overrated. :)

    1. Ha ha! Tell that to my naked children!! :) Hey, I just put up a Family Home Evening page to house all of the posts I've done on FHEs we've done. In case you want to peruse it. There's even a category called "Imperfect FHEs" for your benefit. You must've missed my series where we chronicled a year of FHEs...they were last-minute a lot and crazy sometimes...normal stuff. Should make you feel better! http://beinglds.blogspot.com/p/family-home-evening.html
