Shall the Mothers of Zion Falter in Defending Truth and Right?

(*Because Kendra requested it, this post is starting off with a picture of my cute baby Honor who turned 10 months old on Saturday.  You're welcome.)

Ok, so I feel like I have so much to say and catch you up on that I didn't tell you about over the summer, but so little time (and mental focus) in which to share it.

Everything is good, but crazy around here, and my workload seems much larger than it was before baby #4 came along, but I guess that can be expected when you have a baby and immediately move to a new house.  I don't know, but please tell me that your kitchen table also looks like this a lot?  So. Much. Work. To. Do.

That's why it is so important for us Mothers to take Elder Oaks' Good, Better, Best approach.  Even now as I write this post, while listening to Elder Oaks' talk, tears are coming to my eyes as I realize that the leaders of our church really do know what it is that we go through and give us the advice that is BEST to help us get through this life.

And because I know they know what I go through, I also know that Heavenly Father knows.

And that is precious knowledge to have...even enough to get a busy mom through yet another day.

I have gained so much wisdom by studying the messages given by the prophets and apostles during General Conference over the last three years, and I am excited to know that another session of Conference is just around the corner.

Looking back over these years of focusing on the messages of the prophets, I can see an over-all change in myself, and I can also identify specific changes that resulted in following their very specific counsel.

What a blessing it is to be led by a prophet.

Just one last thing, and then I have to run.  If you missed the CES Broadcast last night, you might want to go watch it.  Elder Nelson, speaking to young single adults, gives advice that is equally important for any woman in the church.  His words answered many questions and concerns that I have had on my mind.  He also gave us a little preview into what the next General Conference will hold for us.  It was just a tiny peek, but I liked hearing it very much!

Carry on!

PS - I just saw on MMM's blog that it's Elder Nelson's B-day.  Even more reason to watch his talk!

  1. Ironically, I just listened to Elder Nelson's talk. What a powerhouse! Cocreators with God. He is truly amazing. And four kids IS a handful!! I moved to Iowa, had my 4th, then a year later moved to a different part of Iowa. Phew. I am still getting into the swing of things. Luckily, my husband and kids are very forgiving of my shortcomings. And someday I will have plenty of time to have a perfect house and it will be empty and that will be sad. I am sure you are doing great. One day at a time.=)
