Rumpelstiltskin

Super Bible Chicks--Esther Eve Hannah--Digital Download

Remember a while back I did a giveaway of cute prints from the Etsy shop Puexican Designs of Book of Mormon Heroes?

Well, now Alexis is back with a sweet trio of heroines from the Bible...Esther, Eve, and Hannah.  And she is going to send this set of Bible Chicks prints to one of you!

I'd love to hang these in my baby's room to remind her to be "Brave like Esther.  Happy like Eve.  And true like Hannah."

Now, I'm not really going to make you jump through any hoops for this giveaway...but I DO need help coming up with a name that Steve and I both like for our baby!

So, please, leave me a comment with some name suggestions for us. I'm not guaranteeing I'll use it, but you might save me a few sleepless nights by helping us come up with the perfect name for our little one.  We've already got a Guy, Scarlett, and Autumn, so that should give you a feel for the type of names we like.

Have a great Monday, and thanks in advance for your name suggestions!!!  I will announce the winner on Friday.

  3. When I thought I was having twin girls, I was going to name them Ruth and Naomi. Other girl names I've loved (and I know they sound super boring, so just ignore them if they don't sound like they would fit):
    Jane
    Susan
    Sariah
Camille (might still use this one someday)

Our girls are Ashley and Nicole, so yeah, they go with them. Our boys (for Delina!) are Nathan, Mark, James, and Matthew. See? We're nice and boring. :)

  4. Gweneth? Elisabeth? (I like it with 's' instead of 'z' like in the bible. it's softer) Maggie? (but not margaret)
Those are my ideas. Good luck!

  5. Cheryl - My mom's name is "Susan Jane"...at first I thought it was my mom commenting! :) She probably thinks her name is boring too, but I don't! Thanks for the names!!!

  6. I do like Gweneth and Elisabeth with an "S"! thank you!

  7. We joked when our third and fourth daughters were born that it was a good thing they weren't boys, or they would have been name-less. My favorite (unused) girl name is Alexa, but I'll have to hope one of my kids uses it for a granddaughter someday. I've always loved Gwendolyn, too. What about Ella, Grace, Violet, Charlotte, Harper?

  9. I LOVE my girls' names Lydia and Eliza. ;o) Naming your kids is ALWAYS a hard one. My one friend did just have a little girl and they named her Lucy Mack. I couldn't think of a more amazing woman to be named after. Just an idea! Monica S.

  12. I love the name Annaliese, which means "graced with God's bounty", and my favorite middle name for a girl is Rose, which seems to go with almost any name. If I ever had another girl (I only have one, and her name is Natalia Antoinette) I would love to use Evelyn, which is a family name, or maybe Francesca, which is a favorite of my hubbies. Can you tell he's Italian? :) Congratulations!

Hi. I hope you are feeling well this pregnancy. Each of mine were different even though I only had boys! We lost one son just shortly after he was born, so I have 3 in my arms and 4 in my heart. I think you should name your newest addition "Delight". I had an aunt Delight and she was. (oh and just so you know if I ever did have a girl I would name her Mallory Miah and she'd be my little M&M!) I am grateful to you for your blog. I have you bookmarked, but this is my first comment. Take care.

  16. good luck. our last three children were the hardest to name, they barely got a name before leaving the hospital!
but I like Ava, Gracie, Rebekah, Lily, Lucy. We named our four girls using all family names...we looked down our family history lines and found names to either combine (we used the middles names of both our mothers to get the first name of our oldest daughter) or ones we just liked. That would be a fun Family Home Evening :D

  17. Jocelyn! I was wondering where I had even found those awesome Book of Mormon hero prints and apparently it was from you! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! I love these prints so much. We just moved and Toby's new room is decorated with these awesome little guys. (Want to see?
http://sharethesong.blogspot.com/2012/06/sparrows-new-room.html ) They look so great and he loves them. One thing you can't tell as much from the pictures on Etsy is that they have super cute little details, like the one of Alma is holding a plant that spells "FAITH" in very light green letters.

One thing I have always loved about my name is that my mom's name is Anna Kristine and my name is Amanda Kristina. It is awesome being named similarly to her and makes me feel all bonded to her. We just read Helaman 5 last night and there's a part where Helaman talks about naming his sons Nephi and Lehi so that when they think of their names, they think of the great men they were named after. Toby's middle name is Hinckley because he was born the night President Hinckley died, and I hope that being named after such a great man will inspire him.

  19. Name picking is so fun! But finding one you both agree on can be a pain. I like Noel. (Alt. Noelle) Of course, I'm having a Christmas baby- so I would like that! Lucy is another favorite and all the fairly normal bible names. Lydia is pretty.

  20. We always find names from our family tree, so I'm probably not much help, but I like Elisabeth, Julia, and Victoria. Good luck!

  21. My daughter is Brooklyn. Some that I like are Hazel, Lucy, and Joanna. My husband and I have such a hard time agreeing on names, too. We have 2 boys in addition to our daughter and those were even harder than the girl name!

  23. Arggg.....discus won't let me comment for some reason so I'll try replying to a comment and see if it works.

I came to read all the suggestions people have for you! Baby Center has a
baby name explorer thingamajig that tells you what sibling names have
been used for a certain name. People can add their names to it. For
instance here's the link to Autumn:
    http://www.babycenter.com/page/babyName/nameBrowser.htm?nameId=449&nameType=sibling

    I
thought that was pretty cool when we were looking for names when I had
    Gideon.

Some names that came to mind that seem to fit with the names of
your kids are Hazel, Jade, Brooke, Willow, Laurel or Daphne {which means
laurel tree}, Honor, Grace, and Hope.

Have fun! It's can be such a chore some times. Other times a certain
name just clicks and you are good to go!

  24. I'm having the same problem! It won't let me comment! We love having some sort of meaning for the name (either first or
middle... sometimes both). Some names I like are Grace, Jane, Lydia,
Lucy. I find girl names so much easier... but that's probably because I
have 4 boys! Boys names are hard!

  25. I think Teagan is a cute name. We loved looking at babynamewizard.com to get ideas for our kiddos names. Good luck!

  26. Here are some names that I like:
    April
    RaeAnn or RaeLynn
    Kayla
ilana ( I used a lower case i because otherwise it looks like two l's)
    Aubrielle
    Brooklyn
    Gracie
    Charity
    Harmony
    Isabelle
Mireille or Mirielle (this is my middle daughter's name and we love it...but it does get mispronounced a lot)
    Good luck!

  27. (I'm having commenting problems too)

My girls' names are Jenalyn & Tienna (pronounced like the color
Sienna). I love them both, and you're welcome to them, if you like :)

Also, I grew up with a girl named Charity and I always loved that as a girl name.

Or Lilly, Eden, Olive. Something different and lovely, like Autumn and Scarlett :)
And yes please to the cute girl power prints!!

  29. I don't know if you'll like any of these, so please excuse my rambling if you don't. :)
Nicholle, Rebekah, Jessalyn, Celeste, Courage, and Marissa. Sorry, I like weird names.

  30. Same problem with the comments!

One name I really like lately is Cora. It's a bit old-fashioned but so cute and I think it's ready for a comeback. Then again, maybe I've just been watching a little too much Downton Abbey??? :)

from danielle garcia: I am having a terrible time getting this to post as a comment. I am hoping you will accept my comment this way and maybe post it for me. It took me 15 minutes to get it typed into the box and now it will not let me click the "post as" button. anyway, here is my post:

Here are the names of my girls: Chloe, Yasmin, and Janelle. There is no exciting story behind the first two (though I do still love all my kids' names). We came up with Janelle by combining the spelling of mine and my husband's first names: Juan and Danielle. Had we combined the phonetic sounds of our names, it would have been Wanda (not my favorite). Anyway, if our last baby had been a girl, he would have been Milena Grace. Other names that *I* like, but hubby did not agree with are: Hannah, Sariah, Samantha, Isabella, and Julianne.

  34. Whew! Look at all those boys! Love their names as well!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I can't seem to post a comment either, so I am going to try a reply, like another poster. We only have boys, but I've always loved Lierin (Lee-erin) for a girl. Not in the cards for us anymore!

  36. I really like Hazel and Ruby. These little characters are SO darling. Thanks for the chance to win! Sorry to just reply, but I'm having trouble commenting as well. :)

  37. I have sleepless nights, too, until a name is settled upon! My girls have a friend named Suede and she is just adorable! I also love Miriam and if we have another girl, that'll be her name. Good luck with the process. I love these prints. What a fun and inspiring collection.

  39. (Not posting for me either)
I love the name Eloewyn and if I ever have another girl I will try to
persuade my husband to my way of thinking. Other names are Blythe (my
oldest daughter's name), Naomi, Juliet, Bridget, Willow. We had a
difficult time choosing a name for my second little girl. We ended up
choosing Layla for her and it fits perfectly! You will find the perfect
name for your sweet little baby.

I always wanted a set of twins named Scarlett and Sascha. Since you already have the Scarlett, I say go for the Sascha.

  44. Hi Jocelyn,
A few more to consider :)
    Eliza
    Esther
    Gretchen

    Good luck and congratulations!

  45. I have always loved Hannah, Rebekah, and Emma. Yet, with 3 girls, none of those names got used. Hmmm...

    ReplyDelete
  46. I didn't get a girl, but if I had, her name would have been Aree-Anna Brooke. In normal people English, it's spelled Arianna. I looked up the meaning and together it's "silver stream". Such a beautiful picture in my mind of that. I also love love love the name Serenity. It's my niece's name but it brings to mind such strength along with the peace. I love names that mean something deeper than just a cute thing to call someone. Have you looked at your genealogy yet? That's my favorite place to go name hunting. Good luck picking one.

    ReplyDelete
  47. What about Lucy or Lilly? Not sure why L's are on the mind...but just some suggestions. I'm due about the same time you are and I am also having a girl! I already have two adorable little boys, so we're all excited for this baby girl! We're thinking of naming her Bella Michelle---which I guess could be another option for you too! Good luck, names are important! :o)

  48. I also have sleepless nights until we settle on baby's name. Our second child was the longest at two weeks and that drove me crazy! We have a little friend named Suede. She is so adorable! I also like Hannah and Miriam. If we have another girl I'm definitely pushing for Miriam.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I like Audrielle, personally. However, to fit more with your other children's names I like Rain, Willow, Hazel (might not be good since you already have a Scarlett, unless you're going for a color scheme), Phoebe, and Shiloh. :) Good luck!
