Happy Faux-Birthday TO ME!

It's been a heck of a week...a heck of a week, I tell you.

But all is well that ends well, and this week is ending with my birthday.

MY BIRTHDAY, PEOPLE!!!!  :)

My husband knows just how to treat me right on my birthday.

I dare say that he gave me just what I wanted, but that's a post for another day.

He had originally planned to give me a private airplane trip, where I got to be the pilot!!!!
(Yup, we can pretty much do whatever we want out here in rural central PA!)...HOWEVER, I told him that on my birthday, I don't want to be in charge.  I don't want to make big decisions.  I don't want to ask anyone to be quiet.  I just want to relax, take a nap, maybe get a pedicure.  Also, flying an airplane seemed a bit extravagant...and just...not me. (Hello, honey!  Remember my strict policy against taking "unnecessary risks", especially risks that could result in bodily harm or death!! Ha ha.)  We'll save flying airplanes for the next big anniversary or something, ok?

Anyway, tomorrow I'm teaching a class about FINDING JOY IN FAMILY at Stake Women's Conference...so we are celebrating my birthday today instead...It's my faux-birthday.  At least that's the reason that I gave the ladies at the salon for why I was getting a massage today!  In addition to my massage, I took a long walk, through the beautiful countryside this morning.  It was raining lightly, and the leaves were falling softly on the path.  Fall is the most beautiful season.  It's the time of year that I feel most alive.

I am turning 34 years old tomorrow,
and this is what I know about my life:

I am not perfect, but my Heavenly Father loves me anyway.

I don't have to be everything to everyone all of the time, try as I may.

Every once in a while, I'm going to let someone down.

Luckily, I have friends who don't hold those times over my head.

Over the last year and a half, God has given me some very specific, very personal challenges.

They have taught me a lot.

But most importantly, they've taught me that I am worth His time...

...and that He hasn't given up on me yet.
