This Little Light of Mine

We are attending Book of Mormon Camp this week at church.

Day 1 was really enjoyable.  The kids learned about the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the coming forth of the Book of Mormon.  One of the crafts that they made was this little candle that symbolizes the light of Christ that is inside each one of us.

I took this picture of Scarlett during Family Home Evening tonight as we reviewed what we learned at camp today.  I love how this small light glows in her hands, how fragile it is, how much promise it holds.  It is the perfect illustration of how tender testimony is.  How wise we would all be to hold on to our little lights with both hands, to protect them, to nurture and cherish them, and to share them with those who are also seeking the light.

  2. I have been so busy lately, I haven't had time to stay up to date on all my favorite blogs. So I am giving myself a treat tonight and catching up on yours. :)

I love the idea of a Book of Mormon camp! This would be such a fun thing for our primary to do! Or maybe something all the cousins could do next summer? Can't wait to hear more about your camp experience! :)

  3. I've never heard of a Book of Mormon Camp. Now I wanna do it with my kids. It's a bit tricky finding things they'll all be interested in doing because of age differences. I love the way you describe the light!

  4. reminds me of the small lamp used by the virgins in that parable. It was little in size but what was needed to keep it light was so huge in so many ways.

  10. I love this camp idea and would love to do it with my kids and others. Any way I could get recipes/instructions on how to make the things that are not self explanatory? Thanks! Any chance I can get myself and my kids more steeped in the gospel is awesome. I love your blog and your example.
