A Real Live Letter...from a Real Live Friend

How long has it been since you got a real live, honest to goodness, hand-written letter?
And I'm not just talking about a card either, but a long letter, written on notebook paper.
Well, I got one in the mail this week from my good friend who lives in NYC. We've never met, but I love her. She's a deary.

Along with her letter, she sent me this recipe for chocolate lollipop cookies.
I made them to give as Mother's Day gifts, but when I woke up this morning there were only three left. My husband said in his defense, "Well, I didn't eat any with bows on them." There was only one with a bow on it! Oh well!

I hope that you all have a wonderful Mother's Day and take a moment to reach out to other Mothers and give them a pat on the back.

  1. I always get really happy and excited when I get a letter/card in the mail! It makes me feel so special! I have actually been contemplating on what I want to do for my mother/mother-in-law for mothers day and I think I might have an idea now!

  2. fun post, yes letter writing is a dying art. I always give my dg-in-laws a card for mother's day as they are the mothers of my grand children....

  4. Joceyln,

You are such a cute gal! We haven't had you do a guest post yet, have we? I get a little mixed up sometimes about whose faces I know from the comment section and who I've had do a post before... Anyway, I would love for you to do one!

  6. Jocelyn - I just checked my blog today and saw you had written. I love your blog - I love the crayon thing! I'm sending a link to my sister in SLC - just has grandchildren, not me though. Sigh.

  8. I sure miss phone calls & letters. Now the computer does everything for you and you never talk anymore. Though the computer is a great gift, it also separtes people. I always call your Mom on the phone because I like to hear the other person's voice and their joyous love as they speak. I miss that and I wish I could someday give a class in church talking about this subject...I have much to say. Cherish the letter, they may someday stop arriving.

  9. There's something about holding a letter in your hand. I'm going to try to do better at writing them. Thanks for the reminder!
